“The health of the Commonwealth is dictated by the health of regional community.”

It wasn’t all intense political analysis either, with the Governor joking why the attendees weren’t in Sturbridge, where the retired Red Sox great, David, “Big Papi” Ortiz was visiting for a fundraising event.
With a busy schedule that included a visit to Quaboag Middle High School and a live Facebook discussion at the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Governor Baker nevertheless ensured he took questions from the crowd and engaged in personal discussion after vacating the podium. It’s not surprising. Baker’s lieutenant, Karyn Polito is a native of Shrewsbury, and has ensured that the local area remains solidly on the governor’s radar.
In Southbridge, both individuals have identified a community full of promise that feeds back to the local economy in a multitude of ways.
