Meetings For The Senses

Meetings expert and senior editor, Johnalee Johnston, explains in the current issue of Prevue magazine how activating our senses in a meeting environment enables us to fully absorb information in a way that is both meaningful and long lasting.  In today’s hectic world where sensory overload is prevalent, this is easier said than done.

Here are a few of our favorite meetings suggestions to engage participant’s senses:

1.) Dinner in the Sky: Meeting attendees will love this adrenaline-filled dining experience that takes place at a table suspended by a crane over some of the world’s most iconic cities and landscapes. Dinner in the sky_BonjourLife.com3

2.) A Visit to Alnwick Castle: Located just north of London, attendees can awaken their senses by paying a visit to Alnwick Castle, best known as Hogwarts Castle in the Harry Potter films.  At the castle, they can participate in broomstick training, or dine in Alnwick Garden’s treehouse, one of the largest in the world.  Screen Shot 2015-11-20 at 5.11.27 PM

3.) Butterfly Habitat: Groups looking for a little R&R in Las Vegas should check out the Springs Preserve, a registered National Historic Place filled with award-winning gardens, exhibits and a newly-opened Butterfly Habitat with free-flying butterflies. 14921_content_Springs-Preserve-Butterfly-Habitat

4.) Neon Museum: Spread over a two-acre campus, over 200 retired neon signs are on display in the Las Vegas Neon Museum, making it the perfect attraction to heighten your senses.Screen Shot 2015-11-20 at 5.07.47 PM
